A family in Nyaki West, Imenti North learnt the hard way after being forced to transport a casket on their shoulders for more than 5 kilometers to the burial site.
Nyaki West has an elected MCA by the name Martin Mworia Kiongozi.
According to Kelvin Mwenda who attended the burial, no vehicle could be able to access the poor roads. Residents say they have to go through this suffering every time they have a burial or any other event.
While a few have dismissed the trending pictures as political witch-hunt, several Nyaki West residents have accused the area MCA of spending too much time in 2022 political formations and no time addressing their problems.
“We only see our MCA Kiongozi in the news bulletins. Following every other Presidential candidate. He should decide if he wants appointments or our votes in the coming elections,” says Carol Kiende from Gankere.
“Kiongozi always prides himself as a well connected leader. He is the Governor’s spokesman. I wonder where the Ksh 20 Million he receives from Kiraitu every year disappears to. We have the poorest roads in Africa,” says Ken Kirimi from Kienderu.
