Governor Kiraitu says that his support for BBI has nothing to do with Raila Odinga or Deputy President William Ruto’s affiliations.
Kiraitu says his motivation to support the Constitutional Amendment through the BBI is the proposed 35% share of the national revenue allocation to counties.
Kiraitu who spoke at a funeral function at Kithangari, South Imenti expressed his this year’s commitment to focus more on development for continuity in the ‘Making Meru Great’ journey.
He asked Meru people to dodge political unrest and give leaders time to execute on their promises to mwananchi.
The governor was echoed by Chief of Staff Gideon Kimathi, area MP Kathuri Murungi, Abogeta East and West MCAs, Mwirigi Karinga, and DMK Kiogora respectively, who stressed the need to support BBI for increased resources and administrative units in the county.
