Imenti South MP Kathuri Murungi (popularly known as Kamashinani) today joined other Mt Kenya MPs and Church leaders for a meeting with DP Ruto at his Karen residence in Nairobi.
The legislator has on several occasions hinted at joining DP Ruto’s Hustler Nation movement.
“Today I joined H.E the Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto the 5th when he hosted faith leaders at his Karen office,” says Mr. Murungi.
A number of leaders from Central Kenya are expected to join DP Ruto’s brigade in the coming days, with the most recent being Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.
According to Waiguru, the UDA Party is the most popular outfit in Mt. Kenya, and any wise politician would want to contest on a UDA ticket in the 2022 general election.
“I held consultations for a long period of time. I listened to other leaders, within and outside my circles. And that’s why I crossed over to UDA,” Waiguru said after meeting DP Ruto at his Karen residence on Tuesday morning.
Meru Women Representative Kawira Mwangaza has also given indications of joining Ruto’s camp.
With interest in the Meru Gubernatorial seat, Mwangaza said UDA is one of the options she is considering, saying she would make a major announcement concerning her 2022 colors in the coming days.
