Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has asserted that the Meru people are now ready to vote for ODM Leader Raila Odinga to the last man in the 2022 polls.
The seasoned Meru politician was speaking shortly after meeting the former Prime Minister and Siaya Senator James Orengo alongside Igembe North MP and National Assembly majority Chief Whip Maoka Maore.
The newly refurbished Restore and Rebuild Kenya Party is expected to lead campaigns for Raila Odinga in Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi ahead of the 2022 polls.
It is also expected that National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, who has been at the center of the new Mt Kenya East Party will be rewarded with a key position, should Raila Odinga’s ODM form the next government.
For several months now, a lot of uncertainty has surrounded the Meru 2022 political shape, with DP Ruto making major inroads in the region.
So huge is the wave that the upcoming by-elections in Kiagu Ward in Meru County have seen almost every aspirant struggling to get a UDA ticket.
However, it now appears ODM leader Raila Odinga is set to greatly benefit from the recent developments.
Both CS Munya and Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi have openly expressed their endorsement for Raila Odinga, something bound to greatly affect the Meru political landscape in the build up to the 2022 polls.
Will the two Meru political bigwigs manage to sell Raila Odinga in Meru?
