A popular entertainment joint in Meru town has elicited mixed reactions after posting an advertisement inviting customers for a pole dancing/strip dancing event.
In a post shared on Facebook, the management has assured clients of adequate security as they prepare to visit the lounge to enjoy excellent ‘pole dancing’, with a promise of stripping activities.
“It’s evident that non if our customers has ever encountered any sort of insecurity issues in the last one year we’ve been in operation. Welcome all and let party.” reads part of the post.
To make the post more visible to persons interested in strip clubs, the advert shared on The Black Jungle Resort & Lounge Facebook Page has the tags #stripclub and #exoticdancers.
“I have been there thrice. Initially, my fear was insecurity. But I did not encounter any…..keep up.” says Everlyne.
“Wow! Finally we have a strip club kwa mtaa. Form ya weekend.” says Kaima.
“Wale mnakuja, here is the dress code. Mvalie sweat pants bila inner things.” says Nkirote.
“Hii tumeikataa. I am sure the club is not registered for such activities. The relevant authorities should be on the watch.” says Mike Kirima.
The club is located next to Mwalimu Plaza at the Main Stage, and trades with the name ‘The Black Jungle Resort & Lounge’.
Pole dancing is a term mostly used by night clubs to disguise stripping activities from the eyes of the public and authorities.
It entails acrobatic tricks either suspending the weight of the dancer or propelling it around a metal pole, accompanied by erotic music.
To make it more sexy, ‘pole dancers’ in night clubs usually wear heels and display sensual, erotic movements, mostly ending in stripping after payment from the audience.
Apart from the several strip clubs openly operating in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru, a shocking trend is emerging in several other towns, where some pubs hire young girls and boys for live sex shows.
