Meru Women Representative Bishop Kawira Mwangaza was on the receiving end on Wednesday morning when her Okolea meeting at Kirogine Primary School was abruptly ended.
According to Mwangaza, the School Headteacher received a call from unnamed officials who demanded that the event be immediately called off, citing COVID-19 protocols.
“As I was executing my mandate keenly observing Covid-19 protocols , the school headteacher received a call that we should stop distributing school Uniforms at Kirogine Primary in School South Imenti. Reasons best known by Mr. Herode the Dream Killer. His other name Mr Cain and middle name Crocodile!,” ranted Bishop Mwangaza.
While a section of Meru residents believe that Mwangaza’s Okolea functions are a great step towards helping the less fortunate, there are those who feel that she is taking advantage of the poor to advance her 2022 campaigns.
“Mheshimiwa you were wasting the pupils’ valuable learning time. School are learning centers, not grounds for cheap political mileage,” says Mr. Joel Rukaria.
The Baite TV Media owner has severally attracted sharp criticism for severally airing videos of her donations to attract sympathy from the electorate ahead of the 2022 polls.
According to Bishop Mwangaza, her decision to leave the school with her donations was to avoid any confrontation in a school environment.
“It’s very unfortunate that needy children, orphans, children living with disability did not benefit and to avoid unnecessary conflict within the school compound I left. I condemn the stupid behavior by lazy, useless, confused , outgoing politicians,” Kawira says.
