Meru Woman Rep Kawira Mwangaza has been reappointed as a member of the House Business Committee.
The vital committee of Parliament is composed of the Speaker, the Leader of Majority, Leader of Minority and 9 other members of Parliament.
To enable the committee to smoothly run its activities, the Clerk and a few staff are also included.
The committee among other duties prepares and adjusts the Parliamentary Calendar with the approval of the house.
The committee also monitors and oversees the implementation of the House Business and programmes, implements the Standing Orders, determines the order in which the reports of Committees shall be debated in the House.
Kawira Mwangaza and her colleagues are also tasked with issuing directives and guidelines to prioritize or postpone any business of the House acting with the concurrence of the Leader of the Majority Party or the Leader of the Minority Party, as the case may be.
