Kiamiriru, a village in Mpuri Location of Ntima West Ward will finally see the light, literally. A transformer has been delivered and installed at the village to lift the darkness.
This is part of area MP Abdul Rahim Dawood’s initiative that has seen 20 transformers delivered to various parts of North Imenti constituency.
“I have an elaborate plan to ensure that every dark village in North Imenti is connected to the grid. So far we have delivered 20 transformers, and we have another one to be installed at Mirurine village – Gachua in Nyaki East.” Hon Rahim says.
According to the legislator, there are advanced plans to install five more transformers to needy areas by May this year.
Residents of Kiamiriru have expressed their gratitude for the milestone development after a long wait for the village of over 200 families. It has taken several years of waiting for the electrification dream to be realized.
“We are happy that our children can now learn in peace. We are hopeful that Hon. Rahim Dawood will be able to deliver on more projects in the next term” says Julia Muriuki, a resident of Kiamiriru village.
“We had great hope that Hon. Rahim would deliver on his promise. I have voted for him since he was a Councilor. We have greatly benefitted from bursaries and now finally we will have electricity in our homes.” she adds.
Several North Imenti constituents have expressed their confidence in Rahim’s development agenda.
“Keep up Mheshimiwa. We really appreciate your great work to the people of North Imenti,” says Purity Nkirote.
“We value your sacrifice and commitment Mhesh. You have been there for us since day 1. You even went an extra mile to create time on weekends to meet residents who needed to see you physically. Kudos.” says Luke Mugambi.
Hon. Rahim will be seeking to defend his North Imenti seat as an Independent candidate, a decision he announced earlier last month.
“I have an experience with botched Party nominations. We discussed all the available party options with my supporters, including the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Jubilee and Mbus. And we finally agreed on an Independent ticket,” Hon. Rahim said.
Other candidates seeking the North Imenti seat include Carol Karimi Muriuki (Mbus), Beatrice Karwitha (Jubilee), Ken Wakili (Mbus) and Nominated MP Halima Mucheke (UDA) among others.
