According to Meru County Assembly Majority Leader Victor Karithi, the new union is a step in the right direction, with livestock herding being one of the main source of the livelihood of the Nyambene people.
“The Governor has emphasized his commitment to help in resolving the challenges our people have faced over the decades. We will ensure all livestock herders particularly in the Tigania West, Tigania East, Igembe Central and Igembe North are registered in order to give them a voice amidst the numerous challenges they face,” says Hon Karithi.
Still on the security situation along the Meru-Isiolo border, the Governor vowed to ensure more is done by the Ministry of Interior to facilitate the arming of trained officers and the revival of the Ndumuuru camp complete with a patrol Land-cruiser.
