Netizens have elicited mixed reactions after Meru Women Rep Kawira Mwangaza shared a romantic video from her hubby Murega Baichu, a dedication to her on Valentine’s day.
The Video christened ‘NYONTO CIAKU’ (meaning Your Breasts) was shared on Kawira’s Official Facebook Page, on YouTube and on her Baite TV pages.
There are those of the opinion that the couple is leading by example on this Valentine’s day.
“When a Merian man decides to be romantic, those are the words I wish you happiness our women Rep. Meanwhile I wish my sweet loving hubby a happy valentine’s day lots of love,” says Winfred Kajuju.
“Haiya! When did Meru men become this romantic? I think I should look for one. Lakini ukiona Mumeru with a love song huyo amekaliwa,” says Abigael Mwikali.
However, a large section of netizens have lashed at Kawira Mwangaza for what they termed as indecent behavior for a Gubernatorial candidate.
“She can’t be my Governor. Some will say it’s male chauvinism or something but she’s far from being a leader who can be trusted and mandated to make crucial decisions for the people of Meru. Mama county, govern your bedroom issues in private kwanza.” says Kenny Rose.
“I think it’s high time people of Meru demand respect especially from our leaders. How do you mention nyonto, biero and the likes in public and be proud about it?” wonder Justin.
“Both Kawira and Murega have several children out there aged above 20 years. What do they want those children to do after watching this video? Is this the kind of Governor we have been looking for? Am sorry this is such a pathetic pair.” laments Mike Muchui.
“Uuuuuiiiiih, the pot had a few cracks now you destroyed it completely. Some of the said things should only be told in a special room. What are you gaining by disclosing how her body looks like?” says Nicolas Kithinji.
The backlash comes just a few days after several women leaders demanded a public apology from Hon. Mwangaza for what they called disrespect to women.
This was in response to a trending video where the legislator was seen dancing with excited crowds to a circumcision song grossly mentioning Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi.
In her response, Kawira maintained that the song was only a reminder to the Meru people about the Biblical times of David and Goliath the Philistine.
“Great Goliath has stolen money meant for bursaries. Great Goliath with his family members looted all our funds meant to help us due to COVID-19 challenges! Great Goliath scaring Meru county should be circumcised spiritually to give us freedom! Freedom is coming soon!” she posted on her Socials.
With the exit of Agriculture CS Peter Munya from the Meru Gubernatorial race, Kawira and Kiraitu Murungi remain the top contenders for the County top seat.
