A Meru resident going by the name Joseph Kinoti has termed Governor Kiraitu Murungi’s persistent threats of arrest to his critics as futile and petty.
Mr. Kinoti, a resident of Nyaki East Ward in Imenti North Constituency took to Social Media on Sunday, accusing the Meru Governor of misplaced priorities.
“My attention has been drawn to Media Reports and a letter by Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi with allegations that I authored a fake letter that has been circulating on Social Media this week. While I totally distance myself from the crooked, fictitious allegations, I also urge the Governor to focus on service delivery to the Meru people, and not petty, baseless tussles,” says Mr. Kinoti Joseph.
According to Mr. Murungi, Joseph Kinoti and two other persons drafted and published a ‘defamatory’ letter alleged to be from the EACC, something Mr. Kinoti says is a fallacy.
“Mr. Murungi seems to be a rattled man out to unleash his “Crocodile” MIGHT and POWER ahead of the 2022 Polls against the same people who voted him to power. Unfortunately, this does not add any bitumen to our pathetic roads, neither does it breathe any little life to our dead hospitals and dispensaries.”
According to Kinoti, the Meru Governor needs to get his priorities right as the 2022 polls approach.
“Mr. Murungi should divert the attention and resources allocated to intimidation and his “King’ang’i” bloggers to highlighting what he has done for the Meru people, not the useless chest thumping and misreporting,” he says.
