Amidst the cabinet reshuffle by His Excellency president Kenyatta, many Merians anticipated to see the fate of Cs Peter Munya, the PNU party leader.
The Agriculture CS has been on the headlines after declaring his interests to run for the Gubernatorial seat against Kiraitu Murungi. With less than a year to the general elections, it would be eminent for the CS to step down and focus on his political Career.
Born and Raised in Tigania, Munya is the second, only after CS Margret Kobia, to grace the list of Cabinet secretaries from Meru.
Coincidentally, Tigania has been blessed since all the two cabinet Secretaries come from there. Prof Kobia is currently the Cs Ministry of Public Service and Gender.
She is a professor of management and entrepreneurship and holds a PhD in Human Resources Education of the University of Illinois.
Margret Kobia came to limelight after wining the commonwealth Gordon Draper Award 2010. In recognition of her exemplary Work in Public Service, she received the Highest Head of state Commendation (MGH) in the year 2016.
